1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Closely ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Closely.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Closely. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide a valid email address and create a secure password to register.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must not share your account with others or allow unauthorized access.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. User Roles

4.1 Job Seekers

As a job seeker, you may:

  • Browse and swipe through job listings in your area.
  • Express interest in or apply for jobs.
  • Participate in the community feed by creating posts, comments, and likes.
  • Follow employers to receive their updates.
  • Refer others to the Platform using your referral code.

4.2 Employers

As an employer, you may:

  • Post job listings with accurate details including title, description, salary, and location.
  • View analytics about your job listings (views, interests, applications).
  • Engage with the community through posts and interactions.
  • Apply for employer verification to increase trust.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings or profile information.
  • Use the Platform to harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Post spam, unsolicited advertisements, or inappropriate content in the community feed.
  • Attempt to bypass swipe limits, rate limits, or other Platform restrictions.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent bans, limits, or restrictions.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Platform.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content.
  • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose.

6. Job Listings

  • Employers are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their job listings.
  • Job listings must comply with applicable labour laws and regulations.
  • Closely does not guarantee employment outcomes for job seekers or hiring outcomes for employers.
  • Job listings have a deadline after which they are automatically closed.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or remove job listings that violate these Terms or are reported by users.

7. Swipe Limits and Subscriptions

  • Free users are subject to swipe limits that reset on a periodic basis.
  • Premium subscriptions provide additional features such as unlimited swipes.
  • Subscription payments are processed through Paystack. By subscribing, you agree to Paystack's terms of service.
  • Subscriptions are active for the purchased duration and expire automatically.
  • We do not offer refunds for subscription payments unless required by applicable law.
  • Administrators may credit subscriptions at their discretion.

8. Community Guidelines

  • Community posts and comments must be respectful and relevant.
  • We may remove or redact content that violates our guidelines, contains banned phrases, or is reported by users.
  • Post frequency limits may apply based on your role and subscription status.
  • We reserve the right to disable community features for specific users or globally.

9. Referral Programme

  • Each user receives a unique referral code upon registration.
  • Referral rewards are granted when referred users complete verification.
  • Milestone rewards are configured by our administrators and may change.
  • Abuse of the referral system (e.g., fake accounts) will result in forfeiture of rewards and possible account suspension.

10. Employer Verification

Employers may apply for verification by submitting valid identification. Verification is at our sole discretion. A verified badge indicates that we have confirmed the employer's identity — it does not constitute an endorsement of their business practices or job listings.

11. Content Ownership

  • You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform (job listings, posts, comments, profile information).
  • By posting content, you grant Closely a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with operating the Platform.
  • Closely owns all intellectual property rights in the Platform, including its design, code, branding, and features.

12. Account Suspension and Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
  • Accounts flagged for scam activity may be suspended immediately without prior notice.
  • You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Deleted accounts enter a retention period during which an administrator may restore them.
  • Upon permanent deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

  • The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any job listing or user content.
  • We are not a party to any employment agreement between job seekers and employers.
  • We do not perform background checks on users unless explicitly stated (e.g., employer verification).

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Closely shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of income, data, or employment opportunities.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
