  • Profile Information: Profile photo, business name (for employers), and location details (country, state, LGA, city).
  • Job Listings: Job title, description, salary, industry, location, and contact phone number.
  • Community Content: Posts, comments, and likes you make on the community feed.
  • Payment Information: Subscription transactions processed through our payment provider (Paystack). We do not store your card details directly.
  • KYC Documents: Government-issued identification submitted for employer verification.
  • Referral Data: Your unique referral code and records of referrals you make.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: Your selected city and state for job matching. We use geo-coordinates to sort jobs by proximity.
  • Usage Data: Swipe actions (interested, applied, rejected), job views, last active timestamp, and feature interactions.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Platform, including job matching and community features.
  • Match you with relevant jobs based on your location and preferences.
  • Send you notifications about new jobs in your area, application updates, and account activity.
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account.
  • Verify employer accounts and maintain platform integrity.
  • Enforce swipe limits and subscription tiers.
  • Track referral activity and distribute milestone rewards.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Employers / Job Seekers: When you apply for a job, your profile information is visible to the employer. Employer profiles and job listings are visible to job seekers.
  • Service Providers: We use third-party services for email delivery (Resend), file storage (Cloudinary), payment processing (Paystack), and hosting. These providers only access information necessary to perform their services.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
  • Safety: We may share information to protect the safety, rights, or property of Closely, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Deleted accounts may be restored by an administrator within a retention period. After permanent deletion, your data cannot be recovered.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Password hashing using argon2 (argon2id).
  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Secure JWT-based authentication with token expiry.
  • Rate limiting to prevent brute-force attacks.
  • OTP verification with attempt limits and expiry.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data.
